All must agree that by far sleep is the best remedy to all sorts of discomforts that we face in everyday life. Be it emotional turmoil or any sort of physical issue, sleep is the medication. * Avoid the intake of caffeine before about 8 hours of your time of sleep. Herbal tea is good instead. Even cocoa and soda are not good before going to bed as they have a tendency to keep you awake.
* An early morning exercise regime is perfect to keep you agile and the back pain like sciatica at bay. A good amount of physical activity results in a good sleep.
* Get a routine in your life. Your biological self responds to hours and minutes. So go by the watch, Do not fluctuate your time of sleep by more than an hour.
* Especially the people suffering from backache must be extra careful about the mattress they sleep on. A wrong mattress would strain your back and leave it stiff in the morning. Moreover, it should be comfortable enough for a peaceful sleep.
* Always sleep in the right posture. Sleeping flat with face up is best recommended. Keep a pillow under your legs to support the spine if sleeping in this position. If you sleep sideways, keep a cushion or a pillow in between your legs. For the people who suffer from regular back aches or are suffering from sciatica, check if you are not sleeping on your stomach. This position is bound to cause trouble.
* See if you are using the right kind of pillow under your head. Too flat a pillow will allow your head to lean towards the mattress and a high one would sprain the neck too. So, use one which aligns your head perfectly with the spine.
* Finish all sorts of late night snacks and drinks before an hour of your sleeping time for an undisturbed sleep.
* Wear comfortable night clothes, something that is not constricting, flannels is a good idea. Keep yourself warm with a cap and socks in low temperatures.
