The Right Back Pack To Avoid Sciatic Pain
| Share |
A person susceptible to back pain has a number of restrictions in the way they lead their life. They have to discipline their life and understand body mechanics to avoid back pain. Simple things like carrying a back pack can cause immense trouble to such individuals. Well, if we talk about back packs even the ones who consider themselves healthy must follow the following tips to prevent future trouble.
Do not over-pack
It sounds a bit obvious but this is the key tip to getting a comfortable back pack. Carry along ultra-light materials and a minimum amount of eatables; too much in the back pack is obvious to put pressure on your back.
Avoid overloading the backpack
Whether you are packing for trekking or travelling, try and put in as less of your belongings as you can. During the travel, you would realize that your decision to carry minimum stuff has been a blessing in disguise.
Avoid carrying a huge backpack
The size of your backpack depends on your own size. If you have a smaller frame or if you are short in height, a small sized backpack would be best for you. Small people must avoid external metal frame backpacks; they should rather go for the internal lighter frames.
Practice carrying the bag before the trip
You must practice packing and carrying the pack around several times before you leave for the trip. By doing so you will realize if everything is in balance. If something is causing discomfort to the back or any other part of the body, it can be checked well in time before leaving.
Always use a belt and shorten the straps
A belt provides support to hold the backpack close to the body. So, never forget the belt. Also shorten the straps of the backpack; it will make carrying it around easy and will not strain the lower back too.
Share the load with your partner
If you are a couple travelling together, you must carry the backpack in turns. But, it is better to carry two separate backpacks and divide the load to enjoy the journey equally.
Use both the straps
It is very important, especially for the one susceptible to back aches to carry the backpack using both the straps. It would not burden the muscles of one side of the body and it would be more comfortable to carry it that way.
Heavy center
The right way to pack the backpack is to put the heaviest object in the bottom towards the center, close to the body. Consider using padded shoulder straps for heavy back packs.
Keep the above mentioned tips in mind and enjoy your journey with a healthy back.
